follow me, follow me yeah let's go to the sand, to the sand the purest sand Euterpe let out a happy high pitched squawk as she crashed back into the cool ocean. Water sprayed everywhere, and she laughed joyfully as she poked her head up above the swell again to see a rainbow glittering in the droplets of water that were raining down around her. Euterpe did not even stop to think about the noise she was making; after all, what could possibly be a danger to her? She was one of the largest predators in the whole ocean.
Euterpe paused, her playful keens silenced as she realised suddenly that she was alone; there was no one else nearby to share in her fun. Her happy smile evaporated, and she shook her head to clear such thoughts. She couldn’t stand to feel such sadness. Fortunately, a distraction came in the way of a cheeky sea gull that landed in the water about ten metres away.
Quietly, Euterpe slipped below the water-line and swam at the gull. The startled bird let out a disgruntled cry as she snapped at its tail feathers before it too wing to the safety of the sky. Euterpe followed it’s ascent, but after deciding that it was unlikely to land anywhere she could get hold of it in the near future, she lost interest and dipped back underwater.
She swam solidly on twirling and letting out soft croons of whale-song as she did so, but she couldn’t help but long for a friend, someone - anyone - to talk to.
into the sea, into the sea yeah lets go

sound. Her lungs quickly inhaled clean air to take with her as she continued her voyage of roaming this ocean. A short stream of bubbles flowed out of her blowhole quickly as she dived nearly fifteen feet. Something was different about this dive. A sound was called, and a voice that was unfamiliar to the ear. Back home when Kailani was with her family, she heard calls all the time when she dived, and completely forgot how it felt to hear such a thing after such a long time. Her pectoral flippers flared from her sides and stopped her from diving any deeper. Kailani went quiet, waiting and hoping she stopped for a good cause. This time, instead of a chirp, it was a large slap noise that crashed into the surface. No, this definitely could not be a bird, a dolphin, or a blue whale. Could it really be? And yes, yet again she heard soft cries once more. Kailani's blue eyes lit up and her flukes heavily pushed her to the surface. Her long body lifted her high out of the water, and her voice called out in a loud voice, "Where are you?!"The large orca fell on her side, allowing water splash everywhere. Kailani swam through her cloud of bubbles and patiently awaited for the response of the other orca to call back to her. "Hello?" she cried out.[/ul]

Suddenly, to Euterpe’s complete and utter joy, there was a noise - a voice - calling to her through the deep blue water. The sound of splashing met her ears and she called out long and loud in overjoyed response, “I am here!”
She swam quickly in the direction of the splashing and the voice, barely able to contain her excitement at the thought of a friend. And what was more, it sounded like a fellow orca! A black and white shape came into view, and Euterpe quite literally leapt for joy, rocketing out of the water and gaining quite a bit of height before reentering her watery home to meet her new, what she hoped would be a friend.
Now that she could see the other orca, Euterpe was a little more hesitant. It may not be as happy to see her as she was to see it, although it had called out to her, she reasoned. The new orca was a younger female, though not much younger than her twenty-seven years Euterpe guessed. Not that this was a problem at all - in fact it was rather excellent. Males could have their problems sometimes.
“Hello there,” she said, greeting the other female lightly with a distinctly happy note in her voice now that she was fairly confident that the other female would not harm her. “I am Euterpe, what name do you go by?” she asked curiously, keeping her distance for the moment at least until introductions were over and a common ground was established. “Are you with a pod or are you alone like me?” Euterpe suspected the latter - no orca would stray so far from the group and she could hear no others nearby.
