A cool breeze rippled through the dry grass on the ground. Shaking the scattered and tattered bushes in a wild manner. A large shadow moved quickly across the ground, relieving the hardened grass from the beating sun. The bird was almost touching the ground with it's chest, the wind he was creating shaking the grass further. The wings flapped down hard, crushing the vegetation below, and lifting the large bird further into the air. The once so clear shadow began to disappear. Feathers held on tightly the muscled wings, clinging on as gravity worked against them. Higher, and higher, and higher the bird went, slowing down his accention as he neared rough winds that pushed against him.
The bird went by the name of Markku. He was covered in rough, earthy hued feathers which swung with the power of the wind. The soft snowy feathers on his chest rippled with displeasement as the bird rose higher and higher, plume struggling to maintain its shape. His accent stopped, and soon everything below him seemed to blend together, the only color that stood out was the one greenish-blue watering hole, the rest was a yellowish-green hue. His dull green eyes looked down with interest, with a foreign understanding. Markku pulled his frame back, and began to flap his wings even harder than before, trying to keep stationary in the windy air. His black beak opened wide, oxygen being sucked back in large quantities, then the beak shut. The wind seemed to stop for a moment as the adrenaline filled eyes looked down once more, the same flaming look in the greying green eyes. He stopped flapping, held his wings to his frame, leaned foreword and dropped.
'Have you ever fallen before? Felt the weightlessness before hitting the ground? It's rather addicting...'
Markku fell, gravity throwing him down spiraling. It only took moments to get to the halfway point of his accention, and he threw his long wings out. The feathers swung wildly as he used the air below his wings to slow his decent. He slowly pulled his body up, trying to reverse his horizontal position to vertical. The ground got closer, closer, but then he pulled up, preventing impact by maybe just a meter. He zoomed foreword, keeping the speed from the decent. He tilted left, causing him to barrel roll to the right, and did the reverse. His heart was pumping, his chest throwing itself foreword and back in. He pulled up one more time, doing an aerial flip as he slowed down.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH! YA!"
Markku shouted at the top of his lungs once his breathing had returned to normal and his heart slowed. He loved doing that, sure it could kill him, but why live safely? He flapped hard once more, throwing himself higher into the air, a smile on his ebony beak. He shook his head as he maintained his speed and height in the air, shaking his crown loose. He was none other than the Philippine Eagle, the bird often told to be related from Griffins due to their size and looks. He quickly banked to the right, seeing a tree. It was hot out in the open, and plus after that he was near boiling point, a little shade could do him well. He slowed down on his approach to the tree, and clapped hard into the trees branch with his heavy, dull brown talons. He placed his wings to his side, resting comfortably under the, rather large, tree. He let his eyes scan the dried terra.
The plains seemed near empty beside the one tree and abundance of grass. He could see hills in the distance, and several other trees, but other than that it was bland. He tilted his head to one side, thinking about food now. He hadn't eaten in awhile, too busy sky diving. He hopped over on the branch, staring at the tree in search for a knothole. He jumped and gliding around the tree until he found just that. He glanced at it, then jumped onto it, clinging on the rim and stuffing his large frame into it. He quickly caught sight of a snake, and grabbed it with his ebony beak, throwing it outside in one swift movement. He didn't want to get bitten by a snake today. He watching it land in the ground below and start to slither away. Like he was going to let it. Markku swooped down and picked it up, one talon by his head the other near the tail. He moved his talons around while flying back to the tree, cutting into and skull and killing it. He grabbed it up with his beak and landed on the tree once more, swallowing the small snake in a second. That would do for now.

AMYNTA;; I do not hook up;;
I've got too much talent .X. The air was hot, making feathers seem to shrivel under its unending heat. It was relentless, and Amynta had to fight the urge to turn around and head back immediately. It had been ages since she had left the cool height of the mountains to fly anywhere else, and there had been several moments since then she couldn't remember why she left in the first place. Her yellow orbs took in the nothingness below her; at least in the mountains there were things to look at, such as beautiful scenery. Here there was nothing but yellow grass and the occasional small pool of water. It was pathetic, and Amynta didn't know why anyone would stay here. She was glad to just be passing through.
.X. A tree seemed to loom out of the yellow grass from nowhere. She flapped her wings while leaning her body back to slow herself down, and give herself a better landing. Shade. There was nothing more she wanted right now. Sighing as she hit the branch and gripped it with her talons, she ruffled her feathers and settled in. The cool air that was kept in shadow sunk into her body fast, and she shook her head slightly to get it through her head. She sat there for what felt like hours, but was in reality only a few minutes. The coolness was so soothing to her that she almost fell asleep, but was jerked upright by the loud call of a hunting bird. Her wings flew away from her body of their own violation and almost knocked her out of the tree. Instantly annoyed, she swiveled her white-and-brown head around and let her sharp eyes search for the source of the commotion.
.X. A young eagle was flying like some kind of maniac, and she felt her eyes widen in disbelief and horror. He plunged toward the ground before pulling himself upright and barreling in all directions. A complete moron, that one. He was the sort that would end up getting himself killed one day. Amynta's eyes narrowed in agitation. She had thought she had found someplace peaceful, only to be thrown for a loop by some kid. She fluffed out the feathers on her stomach and prepared to leave the branch. Her wings extended and began to pick up air, but she pulled back sharply as the dumb bird flew straight toward her and landed in a branch just below hers. He needed to work on his attention span; he didn't seem to have noticed her. She could snap his neck right now with her beak and he wouldn't have ever seen it coming. He hopped around for a while, acting like some little finch, and she watched him with annoyed amusement. He dove suddenly into a hole that she, admittedly, hadn't noticed.
.X. A snake shot out of it moments later, and was eaten only moments after that. Amynta winced. It wasn't often she indulged in reptiles for food, but in a place like this there seemed to be nothing else. Her stomach rumbled, as if reminding her she hadn't eaten since leaving the mountains yesterday. She shook her wings out before bringing them back into her body, cocking her head and regarding the male with a look less than patient. She blinked as she considered speaking to him. "You're going to die some day." She paused, letting him notice her presence and absorb her words. "Normally that wouldn't mean anything to anyone, but you are going to die from doing something dumb." She stopped again, this time to launch off the branch and fly into his line of sight. A branch above and across from him, so she could face him head on. She really must be feeling daring today. "And I hope I'm there to laugh." She gave him a sharp glance, daring him to contradict or fight her opinion.

Markku sat in utmost patience in silence, as though he was dead. The snake he had eaten wasn't exactly going down properly. He almost gagged, but swallowed over and over, eventually the snake went down. He breathed in deep and out hard, no pain; He was free. He let a weak tone escape his beak, clearing his throat so he could speak again. He shook his head, causing his crown to go wild, and his feathers to ruffle. He wasn't one for appearance's, but he just hated it when his crown would slick back, it would give him almost a hunch-back like appearance, and if anything he was far from it.
Markku's silence and quiet moment was over quickly when he heard a voice from behind him. He tightened his grip onto the branch below his touch talons, and angled himself so he could see behind him. There was a bald eagle behind him, just sitting there staring, and judging from the size it was a female. He tilted his head at her words; He was going to die? Well that was a given, everyone died eventually. Unless she meant she was going to kill him. He didn't say anything in the gap between that and her next statement. Markku let a small smile cover his ebony beak as he ruffled his earthy hued feathers. He was going to die from something dumb, eh? He kinda hoped it would be, even if she was there laughing he would be laughing too, just at the irony.
"I probably will, ah, oh well. I'm gonna live up until that moment at least."
Markku said coolly, with a raised eyebrow. He would be pretty content to die now, sure he hadn't made many friends or had much to live for, at least he had fun up until then. He turned his head ahead, and flew up to a branch the was in front of her and slightly above. He grappled on tightly with his talons, and flung himself foreword. He kept his talons held tightly as he flipped upside down on the branch. He was eyes level with her, and looked hard at her. Then he grinned, shaking his crown again. He probably looked weird standing upside down, but it was always fun to do to work on his balancing and strength.
"I go by the name Markku." He stated simply, not requesting for her name in return. He doubted he would get it in return even if he did ask. He swallowed hard, it was a little difficult to talk upside down, but he kept his cool. He tilted his head slightly, back and forth, before returning it to normal. He glanced around quickly, looking at the dry grass and warm sun. "So what brings you down to this place? You look like your not one for heat." Markku said, flashing small smile. She looked uncomfortable and aggravated. He narrowed down to two reasons: The weather, heck he wasn't too pleased with the weather here sometimes. Or the second reason being himself, which if it was he wouldn't blame her for; not many could stand his company. He glanced back to her, hoping for a response and not a snap to the face.
OOC: Markku-is-AWESOME! lol P.S. Dun hurt heem! xDl

AMYNTA;; I do not hook up;;
I've got too much talent .X. Amynta narrowed her eyes once more as the bird began to talk to her. He confirmed her thought that he was male--as if she had any doubts. No female would be that dumb. She shook her head in disbelief as he spoke, unwilling to think that any true eagle would be willing to risk his life for fun. Eagles were supposed to be majestic, and all. She reached down and began to preen her stomach feathers, hoping he would either go away or stop talking. When he did neither, instead introducing himself, she gave up the false pretense and raised her head to look at him with sharp eyes. She wasn't much for conversation, and only wanted to get this one over with as quickly as possible. She clicked her beak shut in surprise when he swung upside down, smiling at her as if it were completely normal. Where was this bird from? Shuffling on the branch in unease, she fluffed her wings as she always did when she didn't know what to do or say.
.X. She tried to step back, but the branch ended and there was no place for her to go. She clung tighter with her wicked talons and just decided to talk. "What are you, some sort of bat? No eagle could possibly..." she trailed off, mumbling to herself and shaking her feathered head. It was just too wrong to comprehend. She felt herself hesitant to leave for reasons she couldn't explain to herself. She refused to admit that this one bird might intrigue her one bit with his casual attitude. That couldn't be it. She hated animals, all of them, and males especially. There was no way this moronic excuse of a flyer was going to keep her around. With that thought in mind, she opened her wings and took to the air. She flapped madly, determined to reach heights far above Markku's head and escape him. She didn't get far before her stomach grumbled madly, and she clicked her beak several times.
.X. Seeing Markku eat his snake had been the last straw for her abused stomach, and her eyes automatically started the search for some food. She saw nothing but yellow and a pool of water. Instinct told her that most animals would head for the liquid, so she circled in the air and swooped down toward it. She ignored the fact that she was close to the tree where the bird was probably watching her, and instead simply hunted for something to soothe her angry stomach. She saw no movement other than the waving of grass in the tiny breeze that apparently Mother Nature had decided to grant. Amynta could barely feel it. She blinked, clearing dust from her eyes as she zeroed in on anything she could find. Nothing. Still. With a huff of disappointment, she landed on a boulder beside the water and kept her wings in the air until she was steady. This was unbelievable. It was hot, there was no food in sight, only one good place with shade, and it was occupied by possibly the dumbest bird she had ever met. She ignored the fact that her mind whispered he would be willing to share the tree.
.X. Life was cruel.

Markku awaited a response, but to no avail. Apparently she had no interest in telling him what she was up to and her name. He chuckled slightly, clicking his beak with the chatter that emitted. She did have a right, he didn't need to dig. He tilted his head, a sly grin engulfing his beak. He saw this as a challenge now. With his charm he could get her to talk, even if it took him to his death. Maybe that's what she meant by he was going to die trying something dumb. He ruffled his feathers and swallowed against gravity again, leaving the goofy grin on his visage.
Markku began to think on how he could accomplish his newfound goal, but it wasn't long until she began to question what he was doing. He looked to his talons, which were clenched tightly to the branch, and then back to her. Had she never seen this before? Maybe he was weird, but he saw his father do it before, he said something about it helping balance. He ruffled his feathers once more before letting a confused noise escape his ebony beak. He didn't see anything wrong with it. He glanced up, "Well actually I'm no...." He trailed off when he finally acknowledged that the bird he was talking to was gone. He almost fell from the shock, was he so concentrated on his feet that he didn't even hear her leave. He mentally scolded himself for being so oblivious twice in the same day.
Markku let go of the branch, pulling out his wings, and landing on his feet a few branches below. He looked around, scanning the terra hard with his dull emerald eyes. She couldn't have gone too far....right? He turned around and caught a glimpse of the bald eagle awhile away. She seemed to be circling above the water like a vulture or something. He chuckled lightly, emitting a metallic like noise from his beaks motion. "Awww come on, I'm not that bad of company." He shouted to her playfully, watching her land on a rock. He looked up to the sun and back down to her, the heat wasn't pleasant. He quickly put two and two together and acknowledged that she was hungry. She must be new, she passed so many opportunities to get food.
Markku swooped into the air, avoiding the branches, and went into the sky. He flew over to her slowly, looking at the grounds. Eventually his eyes caught something, a hole in the ground. He dived down and landed roughly on the ground. The grass was fairly tall, but he pushed his way through and saw the hole. It was around 3 inches wide, Markku knew what was in it. He clawed the entrance slightly, causing dirt to fall into it. Two panic sticked creatures ran out, believing that their home was toppling over itself. He quickly grabbed the first with his beak, and chase down the other in the air. Eventually he caught it in his talons, a grin appearing through the rodent in his beak. Kangaroo rats are always the easiest to scare out of their homes.
Markku soared over to the bald eagle. "Don't go anywhere just yet!" He shouted, well actually muffled. He wasn't sure if she understood. He landed roughly, trying not the crush the food in one of his talons. He threw the two rats at the area beside. "They aren't fish but foods food, right?" He said smiling with a playful tone, awaiting her approval.

AMYNTA;; I do not hook up;;
I've got too much talent .X. It was hard to keep her eyes averted from the tree. It shouldn't have been, and that only made Amynta angry. Why should she care about some dumb old bird? She shouldn't. There--matter settled. Clicking her beak and ruffling her feathers, she decided it was high time she went home. She would just get some food when she reached the mountains again. It would take a full day, though, and her stomach was impatiently refusing to wait that long. Sighing heavily in mock annoyance at herself, she was about to fly off when a shadow passed above her. Instantly she became aggressive and defensive, pulling her wings in on herself and letting out a quick call of fight. It echoed in the emptiness of the savanna and almost made her wince.
.X. She did flinch when Markku landed beside her, and she exhaled angrily through the slits on her beak that made her nose. She could feel herself beginning to shake from the angry coursing through her. What the hell? Didn't this bird know anything about alerting someone before crashing beside them? Calming herself, she turned to give him her darkest glare yet. It was ruined when she noticed for the first time he had brought her something. She blinked in surprise, pulling back slightly as she surveyed this new substance. It was some kind of small mammal, dead and bleeding from several wounds made by sharp talons. She had been bested by the dumbest bird in all of creation. She couldn't believe it. Narrowing her eyes seemed to do no good, so she turned her gaze away from him entirely. The scent of the prey wafted up into her nose, and she clacked her beak several times in thought.
.X. She couldn't possibly eat it. It was food stolen right out from under her. He was bragging, albeit silently. He had shown her up by getting this food, and she just couldn't drag herself down enough to take part in it. His sick victory meal. She threw her wings out and shook them in a casually aggressive way. She took a step back, her talons fighting for grip on the smooth surface of the rock. Her stomach fought her mind angrily, but she refused to stoop that low. "You must be impressed with yourself," she snapped, unwillingly to let this go so easily. Her stomach refused to cooperate with her, and she would never make it back to the mountains without food. She snapped one of the rats up in her beak, throwing it into the air and catching it as it came down. It was good, deliciously so, and she shuddered with the pleasure of finally filling her stomach. Blinking, caught in the act of opening her heart for a moment, she instantly retreated back into herself.
.X. She cocked her head at him, turning away from the second bit he had caught. "I suppose you want me to thank you." She didn't, not yet. She would string him along a bit longer. It would be hard to get herself out of this now, she realized. Now that she had taken a gift from him, he was going to think they were friends or something. Her eyes narrowed. What had she gotten herself into? She ruffled her feathers and preened a bit for show, feigning disinterest. The heat was getting to her now that her stomach was semi-full, and the water was looking better than ever. The scent from the leftover food was making her stomach beg, but now that it was no longer empty she refused to coddle it. She pushed off from the rock and skimmed over the surface of the water, feeling the cool drops splatter all over her body. When she was sufficiently cooled off, she headed back for the tree where she had originally gotten into this mess. Maybe he would follow her. If he was smart, he wouldn't.
.X. But she already knew he wasn't smart.

Markky awaited her to eat the food, but all she did was turn her back to it. He tilted his head to one side, dull green eyes staring at her back. Was it something he had said? Was there something wrong with the food? He let his eyes fall from her frame and to the rats he had just caught. They seemed perfectly fine to him. He tilted his head and got a little closer to them, inspecting them for something she might detest. He found nothing, he was just about to ask what was wrong with them when she spoke. Was he impressed with himself? Well ya, why wouldn't he be? He went against all the facts of what birds were supposed to be, he was pretty content with himself.
But Markku couldn't bring himself to say it, there was something in her voice when she said that, like she wanted to fight. He shrugged it off and hoped it was nothing. She then snapped one of the rats up without a word, and they sat their in silence. His visage was emotionless when she asked if he wanted a thank you. He shook his head, he was fine with just helping someone out really, no gift was needed in return. He watched her get up and skim around in the water. He shivered, he hated getting wet, he could never fly after and it was always itchy! He continued to stare with his dull green eyes as she swooped up, and flew away from him, landing in the tree he was in moments ago.
Markku looked back to the Kangaroo rat she had left. He stared for a moment, debating to eat it or not. He went with the latter, he wasn't hungry. He knew it was a waste but maybe some animal who was near death would come along and be saved by that. He glanced back to the tree and to the eagle underneath it. Maybe he was trying to hard, or maybe she just really didn't want his company. He couldn't decide between the two and figured that the challenge he had given himself was a bit too difficult. He looked back to the water, the sun was beating down hard on him, and even though it didn't bother him he knew what a relief he would get is he got wet. He flapped his wings and took off a few feet to the waters edge, he wasn't too fond of the 'walking' thing. He glanced down into the oddly hued water, looking at his reflection.
Markku wasn't one for water, especially after experiences with animals the live in the water and eat birds. That whole concept turned him away from ever going swimming. But he knew this water was too shallow to conceal anything. He hopped foreword a few times until his feet and thighs were under the water. He let a coo escape his beak in sheer pleasure. Water was good.... in limited doses at least. He closed his eyes, ruffling his feathers once more. He just needed to think for a moment, or two...
OOC: Markkus thinking! OHEMGEE! ITS THE SIGN OF THE APOCALYPSE!!! -flees-

AMYNTA;; I do not hook up;;
I've got too much talent .X. Amynta ran her beak softly over the feathers she could reach on her back. She tried to shake off any excess water, but there wasn't enough to be shaken. She was only damp, not soaked. She could be in the sun now and not burn, and the knowledge made her nod to herself in pleasure. There was nothing stopping her from heading back to the mountains now. Nope, nothing. She could leave any minute now. Any time...but her wings refused to listen to her, and her eyes were glued to Markku. She had never spent time with anyone as annoying, but somehow his charms had sunken under her feathers and lodged in her skin. She clacked her beak loudly in irritation. If she left now she would probably never see him again, and that thought shouldn't bother her as much as it did. She took a step sideways on the branch as her brain fought with her body.
.X. Eventually, her body won. She launched off the branch and glided to the water's edge, keeping a few feet between them for privacy's sake. There were some things she just couldn't sacrifice. She danced around for a little bit in the water before she got a good grip on some rocks, and then she turned her full attention to the eagle across from her. She cocked her head several times, listening as a pleasured coo erupted from his beak. It seemed as if he had intended to let it come out, and she couldn't help but smile. When she realized what she was doing she ducked her head and shook the feathers in anger. There was now a frown on her face, and she intended to keep it there. Ha. Let's see his wits match her determination! There was no doubt on whom the winner would be. She stepped sideways again, the nervous tick becoming some kind of pattern for her.
.X. She had nothing to say, but it seemed as though it didn't matter. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the remaining rat laying limp on the rock, and with no thought whatsoever she flew to it and ate it up with relish. Her stomach was now full, and therefore there was one less thing to worry about. She walked back to the water, the familiar waddle of walking birds some kind of comfort to her otherwise unfamiliar day. She got slightly closer to him this time, daring herself and testing the limits. She wondered if he had any. Didn't everyone have some kind of line they drew when things got too intense for them? Amynta was surrounded by lines on all sides. She would never let anyone get close to her. With this thought firmly in mind, she opened her mouth and started a new conversation. There was a first time for everything, after all.
.X. "Thanks. I would have never made it back home without that." She cocked her head toward the rock, leaving no mistaking what she spoke of. She ducked her head and faced the water, hiding her eyes and the confusion she was sure shone in them. Why was she being nice? And shy? She was never either. This was getting too much. It wouldn't be long before she was following him around like some lovesick mammal. Disgusting. Snorting to herself, she stepped back and turned her attention to the center of the water, turning her side to him. She didn't want to have her back facing him. It was just in case he finally snapped, she told herself, as he was bound to do sometime soon. It didn't have anything to do with the fact that she didn't want to offend him. Nothing at all.

Markku stood there pleasantly, zoning out. This was just what he needed to clear his mind; Water without fish that eat birds. A soft smile stayed on his visage, he never knew how the water could be so...so...nice. He had generally avoided it all the time, but something about seeing another eagle go into the water made him brave, or something or the sort. He let a huge exhale escape the slits on his beak and he almost cooed again, but had more self control over himself this time. He had time, he had to figure out what to do with the rest of the day. The first thing he wanted to do, however, was help out the bald eagle. Maybe he wanted her as a friend, or maybe he just was that helpful. He couldn't decide between the two.
And thus, Markku sat there in silence, oblivious to what was going on around him. He was thinking about going over there and apologizing to her, for whatever he did, and at least getting her to not hate him anymore. But he couldn't exactly bring himself to do that, he had no idea how to start. His peaceful visage turned into that of one full of frustration. He didn't know how he was going to do it or why too, but he was going to fly over there right now and apologize! His eyes burned with determination, yes, that was what he was going to do. He turned and spread his wings, ready for lift off. Thats when she spoke.
Markku spun around quickly, having a heart-attack while doing it. When did she get there!? He folded his wings back against himself, and tried to managed all the feathers that were now standing on edge from the little surprise. He stopped managing his appearance when his brain finally clicked in to what she had just said. His dull green eyes scanned over to the rock that the rat was left on. Gone; It was gone. He turned his head back to her, slightly confused at first, then he got it. He let a smile engulf his beak, shear happiness resonating from him. She thanked him? This was amazing! "No problem!" He said with maybe a little too much excitement.
Markku didn't know what else to say, she seemed to have had this random personality change all of a sudden, and it definitely wasn't for the worse. He let out a harmonic tune from his ebony beak, a little odd but still showing the happy level he had at this point. He was a bird who was easily entertained. He looked to the lake beside them, wondering why she was looking over there, but only for a moment. Then his brain fully decoded her message, she was going home. "So where do you live? Somewhere cold I bet." Markku said in a slightly calmer voice than before, intrigued in the eagle in front of him.

AMYNTA;; I do not hook up;;
I've got too much talent .X. Markku's obvious excitement made her think twice about what she was doing, but she couldn't bring herself to deny him the happiness he was feeling. His coo almost made her smile again, and it took every ounce of self control to keep the neutral look upon her face. She shook her tail as it dropped into the water, clearing it off any clinging liquid that would prevent flight. When he asked her where she lived she balked, wondering how he expected her to just tell him personal information. He didn't even know her name, for goodness' sakes! She knew she shouldn't tell him. The way he acted he would probably follow her home. The thought made her nauseous, but she couldn't leave him hanging. She wondered why not for a moment, but got over it quickly enough.
.X. She nodded. "Yeah. I live in the mountains." She gave the horizon a wistful look, envisioning the cool air and height of her home. It was like heaven compared to this place. She snapped herself out of her daze and refocused on the conversation. "Do you live around here?" It sure seemed like he did. He knew enough about the place, anyway. She clacked her beak, almost in disinterest, trying to pretend like she wasn't as intrigued as him. It would do no good to give him the wrong impression. She didn't want him thinking she was interested or that he had some kind of chance with her. The thought made her snort, and she turned away from him again. She turned back within moments, composing herself enough to take part in the time she was in.
.X. She shuffled her feet in the water, thinking of all the fish she could be eating if this place wasn't so damn deserted. Her feathers ruffled in sheer indignation at her current location, but she smoothed them down. This place was getting her nowhere, and she would have left long ago if it weren't for this bird. She cocked her head at him, blinking a few times. Yes. She would have left hungry and hot, but he had both fed her and given her shade and water. She would have eventually found all those things on her own, but she had to admit, this way was more pleasant. God! This bird was doing funny things to her head. The sooner she got out of here, the better. She couldn't wait to taker flight and leave this yellow grass behind for good. The coolness of the mountains was calling her.
.X. There was no way she wouldn't answer.

Markku tilted his head at her response. He had been to the mountains once, it wasn't a fun experience on his part. Flying high in the mountains causes drowsiness, light-headedness and probably passing out. He remembered doing that, nearly passing out, and falling into a bank of snow because of how wet his wings got from the snow. He shuddered at the thought, well more or less shivered. The mountains were the only place he actually disliked going to and therefore knew nothing about it. If he didn't freeze to death there he would surely starve to death. He shook his crown, removing the thoughts of that place. He liked warmer temperatures.
Markku picked at one of his wings, the shiver that ran down it was irritating. He stopped as soon as her voice entered the air again, and his dull green eyes looked to her. She wanted to now where he lived, well that was simple. "Nope, I live nowhere." He said with a smile, taking a second to change his mind. "Well actually everywhere...except the mountains." Markku thought for a moment, he seemed to be confusing myself. "Basically I don't have a home or terra. I've been roaming around for 'slong as I can remember. I just got here recently though, but I have been here before that." He found himself explaining to her, glancing around every so often.
Markku had wandered around these lands for six years, he knew most of the lands like his talons. There are some places he doesn't go though, mainly territories occupied by other eagles, the mountains, and the ocean. The mere thought made him shudder. He never really had a place he could have to himself. Today was his last day here anyway. He was easily bored with these lands, and with the constant threat of finding a leopard in the same tree was kind of a turn off for him. He shook himself again, returning to this world. "I never did get your name.... if that's okay with you." He said calmly, retaining an emotionless face. This could be the last he could ever see of her, a name wouldn't be too much now would it?
OOC: When she goes to the mountain I might actually get him to drop by and visit later, unless of course she does end up following him xD

AMYNTA;; I do not hook up;;
I've got too much talent .X. Amynta cocked her head in surprise, her yellow eyes widening slightly. She knew she shouldn't be so shocked. He didn't seem the type that was able to stay in one spot for very long. She shook off her astonishment and listened to him babble, her eyes narrowing in annoyance. She found herself having to force the look that normally came to her so readily, and that worried her. He really must be getting under her skin. She needed a break, and some time alone to marvel this. The fact that he appeared and admitted to hating the mountains was a blessing to her. That meant he was much less likely to drop by unexpectedly, which took a load off of her shoulders. She pulled herself out of the water and onto the gravel, shaking off all the water in preparation of flight.
.X. It wasn't likely she would ever see him again. She ignored the pang of...something...the thought sent through her. She refused to analyze it. She turned back to him, her beak moving soundlessly as she fought herself. "Amynta," she told him, shaking her head afterward. She looked back to the horizon, her eyes zeroing in on the place she had come from. It was definitely time to go home. Too bad she couldn't call this journey a waste and just forget about it. Markku was going to be forever imprinted on her mind. How annoying. With time, Amynta was sure she would become slightly more angry with the fact that fate had thrown them together so rudely. At least she had a place to retreat. She had no idea what he planned to do with himself after she left, but she didn't really care. At least, she pretended not to.
.X. She nodded goodbye to him, making it quick and hopefully painless for both of them. She stretched her wings and took to the air, feeling rocks scatter from the force of her feet pushing the ground. She flapped her wings as hard as she could, feeling herself soar straight up into the air before becoming horizontal again and aiming her body toward the mountains in the distance. It would take her about a day straight of flying, but the thought wasn't so daunting now the she had a full belly and rest. She mentally thanked Markku again for that, albeit grudgingly. It was a relief to know that he couldn't read her mind. The kid didn't need a bigger ego. She wished him the best of luck before she finished heading on her way. She had a long way ahead of her before she made it home.
.X. And she knew, with much annoyance, that she would have Markku on her mind the entire flight.

Markku gave a nod to Amynta, acknowledging her name. He was surprised he had received the name without anger or annoyance, she just simply gave it to him. He tilted his head to the side, looking at her for an answer. But of course he would receive none. The silence between the two of them was awkward, well at least for Markku it was. There was something he couldn't exactly put his mind too, something that seemed to fuel whatever was between them. He shook the thought out of his mind, maybe he was just suffering from insanity....or maybe it was something else, maybe it was loneliness.
Markku watched Amynta take off into the air, a sudden throb to the chest. He winced slightly, wondering where that random pain had sprung from. He looked away from his chest and back to the bald eagle that was now flying away, to the mountains as far as he knew. It would be awhile until the next time he saw her, heck he might never see her again. He squinted his eyes, stepping out of the water, toward the direction of the mountains. He could not see them, the place that would take Amynta away from him forever. But he could hold no grudge to the treacherous lands, as they had created that beautiful fem and released her to him for but a moment, which was long enough. Markku found himself tilting his head. He HAD to be suffering from insanity now.
Markku ruffled his wings, coming up with too many reasons why they couldn't and won't be together. His first was the specie difference, second the age difference, third the feelings had to be shared, and he continued this list as he flapped into the air. He turned to the opposite direction of the mountains and where Amynta was going. And with a few hard thrusts from his wings he was off. He looked back for a moment, making out her frame in the far distance before throwing himself foreword along with his head. There was no turning back...
"Amynta..."
