Picking her way through the thick grasses, Eider's heart felt like it was going to burst its way out of her small chest. She felt as if every minute movement she made was being followed; followed by a large predator. Having just arrived in the sweltering heat of the Savannah, Eider had no idea what to expect. Even the smallest of shadows scared her half out of her wits, and making progress in any specific direction was a challenge.
Gaining up what little courage she had left, Eider warily crawled to the edge of the small patch of grass she had recently sought shelter in. A thousand different visions of how this could ultimately kill her raced through Eiders mind. Please don't eat me, please don't eat me, please don't eat me. She thought, her eyes shut tight. Sticking one viciously clawed paw outside onto the baked earth, Eider waited for something large to come and snap it off. Moments later left disappointed, her stunted ears perked up and a tentative twitch shot through her nose.
"I'm not dead?" She asked herself, almost in disbelief. "I'm not dead!" Eider chirped, now bounding out of the grass.
It was a glorious accomplishment for the large rodent. Kicking out her stilt like back legs, Eider jumped to and fro to show how pleased with herself she was. This small celebration was soon interrupted, however, as a rustling in the brush caught her ears. Frozen mid stride, Eider once again waited. She waited for death to come upon her, for the terrible beast that plagued her conscious to finally consume the shambles of her mind. Focused on the trembling bush, Eiders body tensed; this was the end.
Just then, a well sized cricket shot out from the crisp grass. With a startled shriek, Eider was off. Darting around thin trees and through clumps of brush, there was no turning back. She had no clue were she was off too, but Eider knew it had to be away from the monster that very nearly ate her.

The suns intense rays beat down on the young female. She stared up at it, another untouchable element residing hish in large, open plain of blue above her.Mahina was wary for predators, constantly glancing up at the skies above. Being quite small and ranking low on the food chain, the meerkat was prone to any attack. The young meerkat was nervous in the unknown world she would soon call her home. Everything in the new land was unfimiliar, a piece of the puzzle that had never been touched or seen.
Alone, the young femora moved forward, her small, spindly legs carrying her petite bodice across the sandy plains. She ran her moist, black nose nasal along the dry ground, a search for food in its early stages. In all the quiet, Mahina herd the loud screech of a bird of pray. The small meerkat picked up a quicker gait and hurried her miniature legs across the vast sandy desert. Her eyes swept across the land as she moved. A large opening in the ground caught her attention. Mahina's small frame moved towardsthe burrow and she wished it to be empty.
Suddenly, another tanned creature that stood much taller that Mahina sprinted through the grass. She looked worried and scared. Mahina was nervous and scared. What was this animal running from? Wait! her small voice cried out to the other animal. The meerkat stood confused in the shadow of the larger creature.

Frantically running around, Eider almost forgot to worry over the tiny voice that called out to her. It was small, and played what Eidie thought was the cute factor of the Savannah. Pausing in her antics, the cavy looked over to the source. Reassured that it was of no threat to her, Eider trotted over and found how truly massive she was compared to the small rodent. It sounded female, and she had a peculiar banding around her eyes. Twitching her nose with curiosity, Eider crept slowly closer.
"Yes?" Eider came off as almost impatient; as if mindlessly scrambling was much more satisfying. "Can I help you?"
Eider was still a bit wary of the small, odd looking rat, but was much more pleasant based on how much bigger she really was. As long as Eider was dominant in size, her mood was generally that of a much more mild and content creature. However, the small canines that protruded from the rat-thing's mouth made Eidie's heart skip a beat. Any form of sharp teeth, be it large or small, was terrifying. Teeth meant carnivores. Teeth meant pain. Teeth meant that if Eider stuck around much longer, her blood could be the next deep red stain to coat them.
Shuddering at that last thought, Eidie's gaze focused more intensely on the minuscule being before her. With the sun beating down on her darker back, a nervous shiver began to race through her elongated limbs. They were in the open again, though close to a burrow. Looking over at it for a moment, Eider judged vaguely if she would be able to fit. Not many adults of her species took shelter in holes, but if the occasion so struck her, Eidie would take anything.

The other's brown eyes gazed down upon the small meerkat as she gazed uncertainly at the creature stand tall above her. Mahina was nervous in the company of her larger, worried. She watched the way the large animal eyed her useless insicor's as though they could kill her. The teeth of the meerkat could do nothing but tear through tender flesh of insect's, not to indulge in the hair and skin of another. The meerkat looked up at her, curious.
I don't know where on earth I am, Mahina said, her high pitched tone echoing through the quiet sky's, Can you help me?
Mahina hoped she did not frighten her. Suddenly, another wail of a bird of prey pierced the air and the meerkat twitched, uneasy. Another call pricked the air. The meerkats tanned hide rose off her back uneasily as the shadow of the large bird posed a threat on the ground. She lifted her paws as she hesitated, waiting for the oppurtunity to run.
But wait. This larger, more ferocious looking creature could do the meerkat good. If needed, Mahina could take cover under her large stomach, a place to take refuge. She knew the large bird of prey was nearing their small interaction and she knew it was aware of their presences near the small baobab tree. Its gnarled brances were obvious in the suns rays, casting more shadows down onto earth. Mahina knew she could climb the trees thick stump if she needed to, but it was a dangerous operation. The possibility of falling to her death was always present.
She gazed up at the other creature with a bit more intent now, a bit more of an anxious look caressing her small, gentle face. She tapped her teeth together, waiting to be free of the worry the large bird provided.
Words: 305 Muse: Low-Medium Info: She doesnt know Eider is scared of her "fangs" and really wants to get out of there. I would laugh is Eider didnt take the hint and run. It would be just how I imagine here. [:

As the small creature seemed to plead with Eider, the shrill call of a predatory bird rang closer. The mara was unphased by its approach, but the smaller rodent seemed to shy away from the sound. Anxiety poured out of both creatures, and a curious clicking sound seemed to come from the tiny voice. Now less panicked and more confused, Eider sat on her haunches and returned the intense gaze that seemed so fixated on her.
"And how would I do that?" She asked, a nervous twitch of her neck sending her head snapping backwards. "I have enough animals wanting me dead as it is."
The shadow of a large bird began to circle around the utmost reaches of the vicious looking tree. It's barbs pointed outward with dangerous intent. It was peculiar to Eidie, that such a bird seemed to circle around. As if it was waiting for something. Eider had never seen them as a threat; she was much to large now for one to carry off with her. But each time it passed closer, her smaller companion shrank farther towards the gnarled bark. This was all very confusing to her.
"What are you doing?" Eider asked, the minuscule rodent's behavior torturing her feeble mind.
Words: 205 Muse: Low Info: Eider has a very narrow field of focus. Either she's focused on running or focused on talking to someone. x3 Often, if she finds some trait be it an animals appearance, they way they talk, etc. that she finds odd or disturbing, she'll focus on that and completely not hear what they say or see what they do.
