It wouldn't be funny If the one to die today Was you Orange figure stood still in the brush, tail swaying from side to side and ears twitching and moving to catch all the sound waves possible. Golden eyes were hidden and camouflaged well in the golden grass. The days here were cool, but somewhat hot. It was Spring, and her moods were high. Though, she caught no glimpse of anyone else around. The stripes on her back made her blend in even more with her surroundings. Her breathing was controlled and almost unnoticeable. But, all of her moods changed when a figure came into site. It was just a black figure, shaped like a deer. Maybe an elk? A small grin came across her muzzle as she lowered herself toward the Earth's surface even more. Her belly now touching the cool dirt that she hovered over.
Whiskers moved as she took a small step forward, taking it as if she had just began walking on stilts. Her head turned a bit, watching as the lone elk continued to walk forward. It was a female. The tip of her tail twitched as she took several more silent steps toward the elk. The darkness began to eat the elk, and the pain in her stomach could no longer hold. She walked behind a tree and every time the elk would glance over her shoulder, Rekorra would stop walking. When she looked away, she began to edge forward. So, the predator and prey played a game. So what? She was getting closer and closer. The elk finally stopped near the opening, where some grass was. She lowered her head, kissed the ground, and ate some grass; chewing it with her dentures carefully. Now was her chance.
Within several seconds, she came to her full height and ran forward. The elk saw her in seconds, and the chase was on. Eyes locked deadly on the elk as she inched forward slowly as she ran. She had speed but no endurance, something this elk had. She continued to run, her large paws coming closer and closer to the heel of the elk. She strided several long strides before jumping forward, claws out, mouth open, and landed on the elks back with a terrible crack. The elk's back was broken, now paralyzed and in total shock. Her eyes were rolled back, breathing quick, but she was not moving. Of course, that's what was good about weighing a lot. A smile came on her face. This elk was still alive. Rekorra walked on top of her, looking at her face carefully before opening her mouth and grabbing a hold of her neck. The upper body was still activated. The elk began to struggle, her front legs dancing in the air, trying to earn some points by hitting Rekorra's face. Rekorra kept behind her; blood rushing through her mouth and down her esophagus. The blood tasted good, and would taste better if the meat came along with it. It was only a few seconds before the breathing and struggling stopped. Everything was silent, only a few noises still around.
Teeth now out of the neck, she moved forward for the gut, the belly. She laid down on her belly, tail swaying from side to side with pride. She glanced around her, sniffing the air, but found no trace of any other scavengers. The only things that would be pestering her now were the killers of the sky. Birds. She simply rolled her eyes, knowing she could take those birds any day. She wasn't a cheetah, which needed their limbs for speed. A simple cut wouldn't harm her. Rekorra sunk her teeth into the flesh, pulling back and hearing the rip of the skin. Inside was all red, blood all over her once perfect orange, black, and white pelt. Blood stained teeth continued to find their way to large chunks of meat. She ate slowly, knowing there was no rush. When she ate her fill, she grabbed a hold of the kill and dragged it in toward the woods a bit more, in the shade and where she could be close to finish it. Rekorra dropped the kill by the base of the tree before walking away.
Rekorra knew the stream wasn't far from where she stood at that moment. She smelled it and heard it, but did not see it yet. Walking through the never ending maze of trees, she found herself close to the water. Her paws touched the mud, sinking in. She lowered her body again, her shoulders popping and showing itself to the surface. She went close to the water, her rough tongue touching the water and scooping it up, lapping the water. The blood rushed downstream away from where she was. After quenching her thirst, she walked in. The day was getting a bit on the warm side, her fur smelled of blood, and she wanted to cool rush of water. She waded in, soon laying down and relaxing. A good fifteen minutes in the water, she soon stepped out. She shook her body and walked back in the woods. Only a few yards where she laid, the kill was still waiting.

Deep brown eyes scanned the jungle's underbrush with caution, head low to the soft dirt below his nostrils. He took a hard breath in from them, his nose flaring on out to sense any snacks he could find. The raccoon was hungry since this morning and did not have any luck of finding a decent and easy prey or berries to consume. That once fat belly of his was now begging for something to hush its yelling, but was only giving a hush from the owner. Even though he was in the jungle brush, he could still be spotted by any other large predators that too, can be searching for a small meal.
He chuckled nervously to himself, only to hear faint sounds of chattering monkeys, bugs, birds, and even an occasional tune from the block winds. He did like silence, however, when by himself in some godforsaken, hell -of-a jungle, he couldn't relax. Like said before, predators such as Tigers, Lions, and Bears (oh my!) could be stalking about. He sighed loudly for anyone to hear his annoyance, but it made to no ears of a creature.
At one point, the male thought he would go crazy by the quiet surroundings, but fortunately to the raccoon, his white tipped ears had taken in a familiar sound. The faint noise was flowing water. The news of this made the mutli-brown puff ball jump into the air of excitement, tail all high and auds perked in joy.
His pace that held a slow and low trott turned quickly into some kind of skip-sprint. Finger-like paws slid across the fertile soil while his head was up, facing where the river stood. He slowed to a stop near the end of the jungle's borderline, poking his ebonite nose into the air to sniff out any potential dangers. Stupidly, he hesitated to check when a croak from a green, tiny frog had said. Licking the chops inside his mouth, he bolted out.
So you know, Daniel is a sucker for frogs.
Slipping before he came close to the amphibian, he pounced at the envy prey. Luckily for the frog, he escaped his fall, his long legs propping a few inches away. Daniel sneered and white muzzle rippled in aggravation. He tried again, but failed once more. This made the raccoon hiss this time, and not giving the frog a chance when he launched for the third time. While in mid-air, he twisted his body to somewhat theorized where the frog was suppose to jump next in attempt to escape. Of course, Daniel missed, but his landing helped him follow the amphibian's next step... into the water.
He did not go deep into the frigid waters, but the sensation made him gasp for air nasally. He scurried out as quick as he ever did in his life, only to be curled up by his tail while sitting on his brown rump. He shivered for a few minutes before shaking the liquid on off, his face finally noticing a limp form. He slowly trailed on up to the mystery, and when coming up to it, his face gleamed with happiness. It was a dead and shredded up elk. Without thinking anything through, he snapped at the already bloody wound, tearing a small piece of flesh off. He gnawed and chewed and gnawed some more before going for another. With all the blood clogging up his senses, he could not see the large Tiger near the water.

It wouldn't be funny If the one to die today Was you The cool shade saved her from the burning sun, the sun that could burn her fur and melt her skin away until she were bones. Her amber eyes hidden beneath a flap of skin, she quietly laid there. The sun was still high up in the sky, a happy thout and smile came upon her face. Her ears twitched and tail flung in all directions and flies and beatles landed and began to eat her. She quickly got up onto her side, leaning on her elbow. She shook her head, sneezing quite loudly as a bug flew up into her nose. She blinked several times toward her kill, and as she did so, she was amazed by what stood there.
The tiger got up, but stayed close to the ground. Even though she was extremely tired, she couldn't help but be wide awake at this. She let a stupid raccoon take her kill? Her prized possession? A snarl appeared on her face, her pupils getting smaller as she focused all of her being onto that little thing. How could she have let this happen? She kept her ears forward and crept forward toward the raccoon. What a pest! She quickly got up, her tail spinning as she regained her balance. She leapt forward, letting out a loud snarl. Her arms were straight out in front of her, nails sticking out as she soon landed on top of the kill. "You" she snarled, ready to pounce again.

Although his fur was still damp, Daniel continued to eat the tasty carcass, a smile curving on his lips. A pink tongue lapped the blood of his furry mouth, Daniel's once loud stomach hushing its way to silence. He was relieved it had stopped with its complaining, for that now it was full and bulging his exterior belly out. 'Ahh... sweet relief indeed,' his thoughts sighed in comfort.
Suddenly, his peace was turned short. Snarls made the raccoon jump out of his skin, his fur on his hackles raised in defense, but he it took him a few more seconds to realize what had surprise him. It was a huge ass tiger, her slabs of muscles rippling beneath her coat, a dangerous glint in her eyes messaging why she had appear on top of her kill, pointing Daniel out from her hissed voice. Only a nervous chuckle could be heard, his brown gems wide in fear and his mind scrambling on what to do next.
"He he.. easy g-girl.." he stuttered, taking a paw step back. "OH MY GOD! Look!" Yelled the raccoon, his finger pointing at the bank. Out of nowhere, he bolted to a nearby tree, his body shifting against the large trunk of the foliage. His claws dug deep and he bounded up the tree in ease and skill, stopping at the first branch he could reach.
"Hah! You can't get me up in my natural habitat, pussy-cat!" he provoked, leaping onto the next high branch. His rump was faced towards the tigress, and dare he did, he shook his dark colored tail and rump at Rekorra. "Miss me, miss me. Now you gotta catch me!"

It wouldn't be funny If the one to die today Was you Stained teeth showed themselves as her colored lips pulled back. She hissed loudly, watching the raccoon with very intent eyes. If this thing kept doing what he was, he could soon become a snack to Rekorra. As he acted shocked, Rekorra quickly turned and looked behind her, alarmed. She saw nothing and smelled nothing and as soon as she turned around, the raccoon was gone away from her kill. He was in good distance, at this time, for her to pounce and kill him. She watched as he climbed up the tree quickly and shook his rump at her. Snarling loudly, the large cat jumped down from the kill, her loose skin swaying from side to side. Her eyes narrowed, teeth showing again as she roared loudly.
Even though Tigers weren't the best of climbers, they still could do it. She flicked her tail from side to side, ready and watching him carefully. "Shut up" she demanded in her loud, deep voice. She quickly pounced up, easily reaching the first branch. This branch, however was thick enough to hold such a tiger as she. But it was the next branch that was thinner. They got thinner as they got up, and that raccoon could go on forever without falling. She would more than likely have to play the waiting game, she thought to herself. She quickly jumped down, her paws hitting the ground with a loud thud. She sat by her kill, and licked her paws. She continued to sit on her haunches, "I dare you . . . " she snarled.

Isil.Zheha I've seen some children, crossing the Bridge...what kind of life did they get to live? Maybe it was a...child's mistake. .x. Traversing these lands I went, hardly stopping. And when I did, it was only to briefly kill and eat, or perhaps take a drink. Which I may as well have been doing here. More or less I was exploring these lands. I was somewhat new, for I had traveled a great distance just to arrive here. I flicked my slender tail behind my shifting rump. My lean, snake-like feline bodice rolled with the ground's every bump and indent. I seemed to merge with the land, becoming what it is. My round, auburn hues flashed as they turned, the sunlight collecting. My pupils narrowed, finding enough sunlight to suffice. My slightly torn, rounded audits flickered atop my crania. I let my head move on its axis, my body remaining stationary as I searched for any potential enemies or prey. I wasn't particularly hungry, but it never hurts to look. To study and observe. It would most definitely save your tush one day. So onward I moved again, satisfied at not seeing any other beast besides the minuscule ones I cared not for.
.x. I was walking gracefully through tall grasses, their tips skimming my underbelly. They didn't move in rhythm with my forward movement. It was within these grasses that I caught a faint shimmer. A shimmer of black and orange and the faint yellow of the eyes. I stopped and lowered my own bodice to the dirt, tail lashing faintly and pupils dilating. Yes. Maybe here would be my amusement of the day. I caught the scents of yet another feline, only this one to be a tigress. I flicked an ear, and watched as the muscular femora stood and charged. In my direction, I might add. My adrenaline had begun to flow, my muscles beginning to tense. I let them relax, and I calmed myself, for the tigress was not running to me, but at an elk behind me a ways. I glanced over my scarred shoulder and watched the chase. I watched the chase until it ended with the feline standing over her kill. Obviously. Us big cats were dominant over our prey. Well, for the most part, anyway. I watched the big cat begin to eat her kill. I tilted my head, my form hidden among the grasses. Though my thin pelt was the color of earth and then some, my size made up for sneaking. I watched the tigress finish up her fill and take hold of her prey. I simply flicked my tail and observed as she took it within the shade of the trees, out of sight. So I gave us some distance and went around. I made sure the winds shifted, pushing me upwind of the tiger. Didn't want her smelling me before she could see me. I liked that element of surprise. I grinned to myself. Ah, the joy.
.x. I slipped into the foliage, the humid heat of the forest pressing against my body. I flicked my tail and turned toward the sound of a stream. I let my ears strain forth, my neck stretching and my head lowering. I liked to make sure of things. Some creatures may rub on something and create a sound not much different than a small stream. I have witnessed such tactic before. But I was more than certain it was a stream. And off I went. I came up, shoulder pressed against a tree trunk as I heard the faint growl. I looked over and saw a small raccoon pawing at a frog. The frog seemed to be toying with the mammal, leaping this way and that. Always away from the predator but never completely away. It was dancing outside of his grasp. I watched with an amused smirk. The simple little creatures. I watched the furry beast's frustration increase, and he followed the frog into the water. I watched, biting back a condescending laugh as the raccoon fled the water, shaking it off on the bank. The amusement gathered from just watching. I flicked my tail, watching the beast look at something and head for it. I came to the other side of the trunk, following behind the raccoon, hidden. I looked on as he found the carcass of the elk, the one the tigress had caught. I watched as he began to have his own share. I shook my head slightly. It was not in any organism's mind to let another take what was yours unless you were completely finished with it. I knew the she-tiger was not, however. A few bites was not enough to sate one of her size. It was not enough to sate myself, and, admittedly, I was smaller than she. I was a fossa, not a tiger. If that were what you were thinking.
.x. I turned my head at the abrupt sound of a loud sneeze. I flicked an ear and watched the tigress process the fact that the raccoon was sitting there, munching on her kill. I would have given no word nor warning. I would have just went in for the kill. That was me. This was an unnamed tiger. I watched as she snarled, such a vicious one at that, and sprang upon her kill. She was reclaiming it. I would have not stood for that. I watched her tail lash back and forth as she snarled at the raccoon. Her voice was edged with loathing. 'You.' That one simple word may have sent a chill up a smaller creature's back. I, however, remained dwelling in my silence. I watched as the raccoon nearly jumped from his fur. Like a cartoon. His voice was timid, though you could tell he was thinking. And quickly. 'He he.. easy g-girl..' I smirked. I could see the fear. I fed off of fear. That was how I worked. It was then that the smaller predator pointed behind the tigress and yelled. 'OH MY GOD! Look!' I, myself, looked. I saw nothing and looked back toward the creature with a quizzical expression. It was then that I understood as the raccoon bolted into a tree. There he sat perched, on a branch that was not high, yet high enough for him to climb up more if the angered tiger gave pursuit. It was simple, sure, but it worked, didn't it? 'Hah! You can't get me up in my natural habitat, pussy-cat!' I watched with laughter in my eyes as he turned, presenting his rump at the tigress. He waved his tail, teasing her. I flicked my own tail and watched as he taunted her. 'Miss me, miss me. Now you gotta catch me!'
.x. The raccoon was valiant. I'll give him that. My attention was taken from the taunting, provoking animal to the tigress once more. I watched with slight anticipation at what she would do. It was like a nice little show. I watched with amusement as the feline turned in alarm. I almost laughed out loud, and I did when the tigress hissed loudly. It drowned out my laugh. Good. I didn't like being revealed before I wanted to. I watched as she made a start at the raccoon, but he had been gone up in the tree. He had climbed a little higher. I watched the other feline growl and bare her fangs. Her stained, sharp fangs. Just as mine, only slightly bigger. I watched as she prepared to climb within the tree for the animal to of which her blunt anger was targeted. I tilted my head, waiting to see if she could actually do it. 'Shut up.' Came her voice once more. It was harsh, growling. I grinned once more. This just kept getting more amusing. It was then that she leaped up, trying to get at him. Obviously she realized the branches were too thin. I watched her as she fell back to the earth with a thud. I could have done it. I would have made it up that tree. Once again, though, that was me. This was still the unnamed beast. She sat back and began to inspect her paws, licking them before snarling up at the coon. 'I dare you . . . ' Perhaps she had forgotten the ways of coons. Or just didn't know. Raccoons were known for slipping easily from tree to tree, if they were close enough. If this taunting creature wanted to get away, he could easily. The trees were closely put together. I wasn't about to tell her this, though. That's how you learn things; from experience. Well, it was nigh time for my entrance.
.x. I slipped forth silently, my lean bodice moving with ease. My tail lashed behind my rump as I presented myself in sight. I carelessly glanced at the tigress, almost dismissing her. My eyes were all for the raccoon. If I had enough balance, I might have clapped my paws together and laughed heartily. Though my balance was not good enough for that. So I settled with a laugh. I glanced between the two, laughing as I came closer. I lifted my head and pushed my neck to the side, looking down my muzzle at the tigress with a playful, deviant look within my bright hues. I let my rounded ears slide to the side. My muscles rippled as I came up beside the tiger. Yes indeed she was bigger than I, yet that just meant I had more agility. And that I knew I had. However, you should never underestimate the unknown. I flicked my tail once more, comfortably sitting back upon my haunches next to the tigress. My laughter dissipated. I could feel the tiger's body heat. That's how close I was sitting to her. I glanced at the tiger, but back at the raccoon. "Oh the amusement. You two were quite amusing. Great show, great show." I smirked blackly at the two. This would be fun.

It wouldn't be funny If the one to die today Was you Her eyes intent on the Raccoon, she hardly noticed the fossa coming up next to her. Voice catching her off guard, the tigress quickly turned and lowered herself, ears flattened, eyes black as night, she hissed loudly. For one, she hated being startled. Secondly, why was everyone coming to her and her kill? Third, why was he sitting next to her as if they were friends? She could definitely thrash one paw to his face and kill him. She was wanting to be left alone in peace, especially with her kill. No one disturbs her and her kill. "What the hell do you want?" rage filled her body, she was shaking she was so pissed. "And why the hell are you sitting so close to me?" her eyes scanned the body of the fossa and she scooted away slightly. She hated being too close to anything. This, all this commotion, made her dislike everything and feel uncomfortable. She wanted to leave, right then and there. Give up and let them have the kill that she knew they wanted. She had her fill, afterall, and she hated being around others. She hopped off her kill and began to walk away toward the trees again, grumbling loudly.
